Cloud Engineer, Specialist

Responsibilities:

• Maintaining language availability within Vanguard on the following platforms:
  • Windows
  • Mac
  • Linux
  • Coder
  • Docker
• Maintaining developer tooling necessary to code with Go:
  • VSCode Extension + critical packages
  • Vanguard Base Go Docker Image
  • Go Git Hub Workflow
  • Go Git Hub Workflow Library
  • Coder Dotfiles
  • Monorepo Tooling
• Creating and maintaining documentation on the Go Language in Vanguard
• Publishing newsletters on the availability of Go language versions and tooling in Vanguard, deprecations, notices, etc.
• Monitoring applications within Vanguard utilizing Go tooling to address concerns such as:
• Security vulnerabilities
  • Bad practices
  • Deprecated components
• Encouraging and enforcing best practices in Go via centralized library availability, linters, etc.
• Consultations for development teams within GIFS looking to adopt Go for their next projects.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of five years related work experience.
• Undergraduate degree in a related field or the equivalent combination of training and experience.

Required Technical

Skills:

• 3 - 5 years development experience in Go, Python, and/or Java (Go preferred)
• Linux, shell scripting, Docker
• Git Hub Actions & Workflow development
• CI/CD pipeline development
