Job Details
This role supports Cencora's veterinary and livestock production solutions marketed through our MWI Animal Health business. MWI Animal Health is a leading brand of Cencora, offering animal health services globally.
Under the general direction of the Corporate Transportation Director, the role is responsible for analyzing the effectiveness of existing Transportation processes and customer delivery for all aspects of transportation including parcel, LTL (less than truckload), FTL (full truckload), and carrier deliveries at local, regional and national levels, ensuring carrier performance and Cencora objectives are aligned. Recommends and contributes to improved strategies to reduce cost.
Supports transportation directors and managers through direction of Corporate Transportation initiatives.
- Manages the courier base: focusing on overseeing daily deliveries to customer base and handling issues as they arise.
- Works closely with carrier partners, forward distribution centers and Cencora/MWI departments to manage claims, payment, delivery issues, and related needs.
- Collaborates with Commercial Sales teams to incorporate new customer opportunities into tote delivery initiatives.
- Monitors and reports shipment statuses of all daily outbound shipments.
- Develops SOPs to ensure all carriers follow proper policies and procedures for end-mile deliveries.
- Develops and maintains dashboards analyzing daily/weekly/monthly transportation KPIs.
- Collaborates with carrier partners, forward distribution centers, and Cencora/MWI departments to manage/resolve claims.
- Works with carriers and Transportation Managers to improve performance, as reported by carrier scorecards.
- Proficient in data acquisition from transportation systems (e.g., WMS, SCALE, XT, TMS, PKMS, IBS, Power BI, Four Kites, Green Mountain) and other data sources as needed.
- Analyzes freight and lane characteristics to assign customers to optimal carriers and sourcing policies for end-mile delivery.
- Continuously improves business processes by providing data that enables cost reduction, improved effectiveness, and enhanced customer experience.
- Supports onboarding of new carriers and technology partners as needed.
- Assists in managing all carrier contracts, depot addresses, and depot inspection databases for all carriers.
- Assists in preparing data and requirements for transportation requests for proposals (RFPs) and carrier conversions.
- Conducts carrier hub audits in-person and remotely as needed.
- Under direction from Transportation Managers, prepares and conducts uploads for XT routing, sourcing policy, and Manner of Transport (MOT) creations.
- Broad training in fields such as business administration, accounting, sales, marketing, computer sciences, or similar vocations, generally via a four-year bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience in preparing or responding to RFPs/RFQs in a transportation environment.
- Knowledge of logistics; prior transportation experience preferred.
- Ability to present information effectively to all organizational levels.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
- Exposure to courier industry and/or pool distribution environments helpful; small package, LTL, and TL experience a plus.
- Normally requires a minimum of five (5) years directly related and progressively responsible experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Knowledge of ABC policies, programs & services and products

- Ability to implement processes resulting in satisfactory audit practices
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Knowledge of automated freight pay and audit processes
- Analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities to evaluate business problems and apply solutions
- Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Excel, Word)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Access including database creation, importing tables, queries, macros, forms and reporting
