Logistics Coordinator
Job Summary
The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for managing the supply chain operations of an organization, ensuring the efficient movement of goods from suppliers to customers. This role involves coordinating shipments, tracking inventory, and working closely with vendors, carriers, and internal teams to optimize logistics processes and maintain timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and monitor supply chain operations from procurement to delivery
- Arrange transportation, including scheduling shipments and selecting carriers
- Track orders to ensure timely delivery and resolve any transportation issues
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, inventory, and logistics activities
- Communicate with suppliers, vendors, and customers regarding shipment status
- Collaborate with warehouse and operations teams to ensure smooth handling of goods
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal transportation regulations
- Analyze logistics data to improve efficiency and reduce costs
- Handle documentation such as bills of lading, invoices, and customs paperwork
- Identify and address potential delays or disruptions in the supply chain
Qualifications & Skills
- High School Diploma or Equivalent. Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field (preferred) - Proven experience in logistics, shipping, or supply chain coordination
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards
- Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping
Preferred Skills
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
- Knowledge of international shipping and customs procedures
- Strong analytical and data reporting skills
Work Environment
- Typically office-based with occasional warehouse or site visits
- May require working outside standard hours to manage shipments or resolve issues
