School Bus Mechanic

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED.
• Previous experience providing maintenance and repair of transportation vehicles.
• Previous experience maintaining/repairing school buses and diesel engines preferred.
• Pervious experience with vehicle body work a plus.
• Current Class B CDL with Passenger Endorsement, no Air Brake Restriction, and clean driving record.
• Current Class 7 State Inspection license.
• School Bus Endorsement preferred.
• Must be flexible.

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain school buses, trucks, mowers, vans, and other equipment as assigned.
• Maintain adequate supply of all inventory and supplies.
• Provide emergency road service to district vehicles.
• Suggest changes to improve efficiency, service, safety and costs.
• Assist drivers when required to maintain proper fuel supply, engine oil level, transmission oil level, engine coolant level, and proper air pressure in tires.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• Assist with snow and ice removal as needed.
• Transport school students as necessary when staffing needs demand.

Full-time position, 8 hours per day, 12 months. Position following the School District calendar. Position part of the Support Staff Bargaining Unit.
