Transportation Coordinator – North America
The Transportation Coordinator coordinates the importing, transporting and rigging of Engel products including machines, robots and automation. Obtains quotes from vendors and works with sales and customers to successfully deliver Engel products in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Oversee the timely delivery of machines, robots and automation.
- Maintain delivery schedules and track deliveries to ensure customer expectations are met.
- Update and provide tracking information to customers, both internal and external.
- Monitor and report issues such as damages, accidents and safety.
- Handle customer complaints and assist the Customer Service Division in reconciling damages to equipment and related delivery issues.
- Act as expert in the understanding and application of INCOTERMS.
- Negotiate contracts with outside transportation companies, including Engel manufacturing locations.
- Analyze delivery and rigging costs and recommend more cost effective methods of transportation.
- Work closely with the Engel production plants to provide fair transportation revenue splits.
- Responsible for customs compliance.
- Maintain internal documentation, processes, procedures to ensure compliance with all US and Canadian customs requirements.
- Manage relationship and operating procedures with customs brokers to ensure compliance.
- Prepare reports.
- Maintain delivery schedules, track deliveries to ensure customer expectations are met. Report on such.
- Maintain responsibility for the profitability of the transportation/rigging cost center.
- Arrange transport of equipment and material for trade shows such as MD&M, NPE, etc.
- Perform other duties or special projects as required or assigned by a supervisor.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Business related degree is a plus.
- Understanding/expertise in B2B transactions, including purchasing, quoting, shipping, rigging, customs documentation, dispatching, and negotiating. International transportation experience would be a plus.
- Customer service and support experience.
- Brokers License is a plus.
- Good communication skills to exchange/supply information with internal and external stakeholders.
- INCOTERMS expertise.
- Sitting at a computer and keyboarding for more than 2 hours at a time on a continuous basis.
- Ability to speak on the phone on a continuous basis.
- Attendance at conferences, between 1 and 2 hours in length, on an occasional basis.
