Accounting Assistant - Pensacola, Florida

A local company is seeking an Accounting Assistant in Pensacola, Florida. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, organized, and eager to grow in a professional environment.

Job Responsibilities
  • Record, classify, and reconcile financial transactions in compliance with company policies.
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoices, billing, and payment posting.
  • Assist with payroll preparation and expense reimbursements.
  • Maintain organized accounting files and documentation for audits and reporting.
  • Prepare routine financial reports and spreadsheets for management.
  • Support month‑end and year‑end closing processes.
  • Communicate with vendors, clients, and internal staff to resolve billing or payment discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company procedures.
  • Perform other related administrative and accounting duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • 1+ year of accounting or bookkeeping experience (legal services or professional services environment a plus).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (Quick Books).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Compensation and Benefits
  • For this position, starting pay is $16/hour, depending on experience
    .
  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
  • Contract to Hire position.
