Responsibilities
- Provide professional military personnel support services to the U.S. Navy’s Identification Card Administration (ICA) program at designated DEERS and RAPIDS sites.
- Serve as /Common Access Card (CAC) customer service specialist trained and certified by the Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC).
- Deliver services to all personnel assigned to support customer commands, other military service personnel, retirees and their dependents, and contractors verified through the Trusted Associate Sponsorship System (TASS).
- Perform as a Verifying Official (VO) on the DEERS/RAPIDS terminal and ensure data input accuracy.
- Verify identity and eligibility, issue DoD Identification Cards, and perform DEERS updates in accordance with DoD regulations and AFI
36‑3026. - Issue and control Armed Forces identification and privilege cards for all eligible personnel.
- Operate and maintain RAPIDS workstations, process CACs, and assist customers with identification card eligibility, application requirements, and DEERS questions.
- Accomplish DEERS enrollment and updates for all eligible beneficiaries, reconcile erroneous information, perform PIN resets, and update PKI certificates.
- Optionally be certified by DMDC as Site Security Manager (SSM), responsible for safekeeping, storing, and accountability of CACs and related consumables.
- Maintain RAPIDS equipment within the established physical parameters and configurations.
- Perform user maintenance on RAPIDS equipment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1+ year of experience in a customer‑service environment.
- HR background in Military Pay, Military Personnel, Travel Claims, or Navy Transportation (or equivalent private or federal agency experience).
- Proficient oral and written communication skills; able to explain complex military entitlements, allowances, and collections.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and standard office equipment.
- U.S. citizenship and a favorably adjudicated Tier3 (NACLC) security investigation.
- Ability to comply with all legal, regulatory, contractual, and internal security requirements for the position.
