Schedule: Tuesday – Saturday; 6:30 AM – 2:30 PM

General DescriptionThe Framing Carpenter will ensure that daily construction activities comply with PHFH standards in accordance with Pensacola Habitat’s house plans, specifications, and quality requirements. The Framing Carpenter is expected to maintain a safe construction environment in accordance with HFHI Competent Person Safety Training. At the end of each workday, the Framing Carpenter will update all required project information within the BUILDERTREND software application.
The Framing Carpenter makes independent site decisions and works closely with the Construction Crew Leaders, the Lead Carpenter, and the Director of Construction.
- Commit to Pensacola Habitat for Humanity’s mission of building homes, communities, and hope.
- Conduct and/or assist in a daily on‑site Construction Safety Meeting for volunteers and home buyers prior to the commencement of any work activities.
- Complete workers’ compensation accident forms and notify the HR Manager immediately if applicable.
- Identify and recommend advantageous building practices and material cost savings.
- Pay attention to construction site detail and overall quality control.
- At the end of each workday, ensure the construction site is clean, swept, and all tools are put away.
- Ensure all tools are in safe and good working condition.
- Send damaged tools for repair daily if applicable.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of standard framing practices.
- Skilled in the use of standard construction tools.
- Knowledge of reading and interpreting building plans and specifications.
- Ability to prioritize, coordinate, and manage the work site.
- Ability to motivate, communicate, and team‑build.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of leading a team.
- Minimum experience of 2 years with framing, 4 years preferred.
This position is primarily performed in an office setting and may require sitting for long periods of time. On occasion, this employee may work offsite and perform tasks that may require repetitive lifting of up to 25 lbs.
This position requires a valid state driver’s license, a safe driving record, reliable transportation, and insurability through our vehicle insurance carrier.
