What You’ll Do:

As a Dental Assistant
, you’ll support our dental team in delivering top-quality care while creating a welcoming environment for patients. Your responsibilities will include both clinical and administrative functions, ensuring every patient has a positive experience while receiving the best dental care possible.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Patient Comfort: Greet patients warmly and escort them to the operatory, ensuring they feel at ease throughout their visit.
  • Dental Assistance: Assist the dentist with examinations, treatments, and procedures.
  • Diagnostics: Expose and develop radiographs, record medical and dental histories, take vital signs, and assist with impressions.
  • Oral Hygiene

    Education:

    Perform prophylaxis and fluoride treatments for children, and provide patients with oral hygiene guidance.
  • Sterilization & Infection Control: Maintain a sterile environment by properly cleaning instruments, equipment, and the operatory.
  • Post-Op Care: Provide patients with post-operative instructions and care, ensuring they feel confident in their recovery.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate with dental, front desk, and patient services teams to ensure smooth patient flow and high-quality care.
  • Inventory Management: Ensure a steady supply of dental materials by reviewing and restocking as needed.
  • Patient Records: Maintain and update patient records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in all interactions.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Current CPR Certification
  • Completion of a recognized and certified dental assistant program
  • Successful completion of the Certified Dental Assistant Examination
  • Florida Dental Radiographer Certification
Preferred Experience:
  • Expanded Functions Certification
  • Experience working in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC)
Key Skills & Abilities:
  • Proficient in dental assisting principles and practices, including using dental instruments and equipment
  • Strong communication skills, able to explain technical information to patients in an easy-to-understand manner
  • Ability to maintain calm and professionalism in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of infection control protocols and sterilization procedures
  • Familiarity with Dentrix software
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Physical Requirements:
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands for a variety of tasks
  • Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities, including close vision, color vision, and depth perception
