The Pensacola MESS Hall is seeking a Program Assistant (Part-Time). This employee is a critical member of a small team and is primarily responsible for assisting with field trips and outreach programs. Assists visitors and students with activities in a friendly and positive manner. Provides knowledgeable answers to inquiries about the exhibits, activities, and programs. Provides general upkeep and maintenance.
Qualifications & Skills- Some college work in science, math, engineering or education.
- Must be available most weekday mornings.
- Occasional availability in afternoons, evenings, school vacations, and weekends
- Enthusiasm for the delivery of hands‑on programs in science, engineering, math and technology is essential.
- Must show a considerable degree of creativity and initiative, and have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- As a representative of the MESS Hall, must be able to communicate effectively with students, visitors and community organizations.
- Dependable and flexible with work schedule and duties.
- Must pass Level II background check and have an acceptable driving record.
Physical demands:
This job requires a large range of physical abilities, including lifting things of up to 25 lbs., standing, walking, reaching with hands and arms, manual dexterity, crouching, and full vision, hearing, and speech. The environment can be loud, with large fans and visitor noise.
