Job Description
The High School Science Teacher / Education Specialist position is a ten (10) month, full‑time, 37.5 hour per week professional/managerial position with an anticipated start date of August
32026.
The Teacher / Education Specialist provides individualized classroom instruction to charter school students using research‑based instructional practices. Instruction includes preparation for standardized testing and End‑of‑Course Exams. The position provides supervision, academic support, and advising to charter school students throughout the school day and during after‑school activities; monitors students’ progress in courses and in meeting the Florida State Standards; and serves as a member of the Charter Academy Assessment and Accountability Team and the Multi‑Tiered System of Supports Team, attending all scheduled meetings and implementing strategies as appropriate.
The position reports to the Dean and Principal, Charter Academy.
- A master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the subject taught.
- Florida secondary teaching certification in the subject areas (Biology and Chemistry6‑12) or qualifications to acquire this certification before the start of classes.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills; and familiarity with current instructional technology strategies.
- Successful results of a criminal background check.
- Compliance with Florida Statutes §435.04(2) and §1012.32(2)(b)(1) regarding background investigations and employment eligibility.
- Familiarity with the Florida State Standards and state testing format and criteria.
- Experience in using student assessment data to make curriculum decisions.
- A gifted endorsement.
- Minimum two years of full‑time teaching experience at the high school or college level.
$55,000.00 (salary is negotiable based on qualifications).
