Job Description
Intercollegiate Athletics Coach, Women’s Basketball, who reviews college and division policy and procedure manuals and strives to develop the program by following established policies for preparing budgets, acquisition and control of equipment, planning, improving facilities, upgrading seasonal schedule, filing eligibility forms, arranging travel, and setting up home contests. This position assists the Director of Athletics in program promotion, player skill and fitness development, and recruitment of student‑athletes at local, state, and regional levels.
The role reports directly to the Director of Athletics.
- Possess knowledge of college admissions process, including scholarships and financial aid.
- Meet physical fitness demands involved with coaching women’s basketball, including extensive running, jogging, weightlifting, stooping, bending, reaching, and voice projection.
- Address individuals – including parents, students, instructors, opposing teams/players – both verbally and in writing, and may make presentations to individuals or groups.
- Demonstrate good mathematical skills, strong listening skills, conflict resolution, and sensitivity to situations of a sensitive nature.
- Possess knowledge of first aid and initial treatment for cuts, wounds, bruises.
- Participate in extensive in‑district and overnight travel including bus and air travel, nights, weekends, and holiday work.
- Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality, essential to fulfilling job responsibilities.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
- Three years full‑time experience in the organization, management, and coaching of women’s basketball.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Successful background check pursuant to College policy and Florida Statutes §435.04(2).
- Basic ability to meet the requirements of background investigations as outlined above.
- Master’s degree.
- Demonstrated coaching success at the high school or college level.
- Recruiting experience.
- Academic advising experience.
- Strong administrative and organizational skills.
- Prior experience as a head coach.
$52,000.00 – $60,000.00 (depending on qualifications; salary may be negotiable).
