Position

High School Mathematics Teacher / Education Specialist (10-month, full-time)

Responsibilities

Provide individualized classroom instruction to charter school students using research-based instructional practices. Prepare students for standardized testing and end-of-course exams. Supervise academic support and advising during the school day and after-school activities. Monitor student progress and ensure alignment with Florida State Standards. Serve as a member of the Charter Academy Assessment and Accountability Team and the Multi-Tiered System of Supports Team.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited institution; master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the subject taught.
  • Florida secondary teaching certification in Mathematics 6-12 or eligibility to obtain prior to the start of classes.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with current instructional technology strategies.
  • Successful criminal background check.
  • Compliance with background investigation requirements (§435.04(2) Florida Statutes).
  • Florida Department of Law Enforcement approved background check and disclosure of all adverse information.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with Florida State Standards and state testing formats and criteria.
  • Experience using student assessment data to inform curriculum decisions.
  • Gifted endorsement (or equivalent).
  • Minimum two years of full-time teaching experience at the high school or college level.
Salary

$55,000 (negotiable depending on qualifications)
