Job Description
Join the PSC family and connect with accomplished and diverse colleagues. The English and Communications Department offers college-level speech courses in face-to-face, live online via Zoom, and asynchronous online formats. Adjunct instructors instruct students, develop curricula, assess student learning, participate in program evaluation, and maintain College and department standards.
This is an open applicant pool. Positions are filled by the department on an as-needed basis.
Minimum QualificationsTo teach college-level courses, a graduate degree from an institution accredited by the U.S. Department of Education and approved by the College with a master’s degree in the relevant field, or a master’s degree plus 18 graduate hours in the field, is required. Successful results of a criminal background check are also required.
SalaryAdjunct Faculty shall be paid on an hourly basis according to degree level:
Master’s Degree: $35.00 per hour;
Doctorate: $38.00 per hour.
Pursuant to College policy, it is an employment eligibility requirement for an applicant to meet the requirements of Section 435.04(2), Florida Statutes, related to background investigations. Any person failing to meet the requirements of the statute will be deemed not qualified to hold employment in this position. A Florida Department of Law Enforcement approved background check will be conducted on every successful candidate as a condition of employment, and any person who fails to disclose adverse information contained in the background investigation at the time of submitting the employment application will be disqualified from employment.
