Job Description
The Natural Sciences Department offers college‑level Biology courses in face‑to‑face, live online via Zoom, and asynchronous online formats. Adjunct instructors will instruct students, develop curricula, assess student learning, participate in program evaluation, and maintain College and department standards. This position reports to the Department Head, Natural Sciences.
Responsibilities- Instruct students in college‑level biology courses across face‑to‑face, live online via Zoom, and asynchronous online formats.
- Develop curricula and lesson plans for assigned courses.
- Assess student learning and provide timely feedback.
- Participate in program evaluation activities.
- Maintain College and department standards for course delivery.
- A degree from an institution accredited and recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and approved by the College.
- Master’s degree in the field, or a master’s degree plus 18 graduate hours.
- Successful completion of a criminal background check.
- Proficiency in using and demonstrating required technology for assigned courses.
Adjunct Faculty shall be paid on an hourly basis according to degree level:
Master’s Degree: $35.00;
Doctorate: $38.00.
Applicants must satisfy Florida Statute §435.04(2) background investigation requirements. A Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) approved background check will be conducted on every successful candidate. Failure to disclose adverse information will result in disqualification from employment.
