Compensation

  • $15.45/hour:
    Infant/Toddler
    Teachers with an Infant/Toddler CDA or FCCPC Birth to Five credential
  • $16.57/hour:
    Infant Toddler
    Teachers with an Associate Degree – Early Childhood Education
  • $18.83/hour:
    Infant/Toddler
    Teachers with a Bachelor Degree – Early Childhood Education
Job Summary

Reporting to the Center Director, the Infant/Toddler Teacher primary function is as caregiver to assigned children six weeks through three years of age. Actively supervising and ensuring the safety of all children in the classroom. Promote each child’s growth and development by planning and implementing developmentally appropriate experiences, create an environment in which children can develop personal relationships, experiment, make choices, solve problems and develop age-appropriate self-help skills are among the major responsibilities of this position.

Education

& Experience

Must have one of the following credentials:

  • Infant/Toddler CDA or FCCPC
  • Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education or AA with 6 classes in ECE
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related Education field with 6 classes in ECE
  • One year of experience working with young children, ages birth to 3, and some supervisory experience is also needed
Other Qualifications

Ability to interact effectively with people from diverse backgrounds. Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing. Demonstrated computer literacy skills, using MS Office applications and other basic data systems including internet navigation. Must compete the DCF 45-hour training within 6 months of employment.

Physical Demands

This position requires the employee to be actively involved with children at all times. They will be required to stand for long periods of time while working in the classroom and on the playground. Moderate to vigorous physical activity is required throughout the day. The employee must be able to stoop, bend, kneel, hop, and skip and are expected to sit on the floor with children during circle time and center time.

The employee must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Required Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations

Applicants must have a current Florida Driver’s license, reliable transportation, satisfactory criminal records check for abuse and neglect, and state required minimum vehicle insurance and uninsured motorist insurance. Must meet all requirements of the Department of Children and Families
