Position Summary

The Mathematics Lecturer position is a 9‑month, non‑tenure‑track faculty appointment with an anticipated start date of August 2026. The successful candidate will teach a broad range of mathematics courses from developmental mathematics through the calculus sequence, as assigned, and will be responsible for preparing course plans and materials, delivering course content effectively, monitoring student attendance and progress, supporting activities that foster retention, assessing student learning outcomes, and participating in other service and professional development activities as appropriate.

Multiple campus, day, evening, and distance‑learning teaching assignments are possible, but the position is on‑site. The lecturer reports to the Department Head of Mathematics and Computer Science.

• Teach and assess mathematics courses from developmental to calculus sequence.
• Prepare course materials and plans.
• Deliver course content effectively to diverse students.
• Monitor student attendance and progress.
• Support activities that foster student retention.
• Assess student learning outcomes.
• Participate in service and professional development activities as appropriate.

• Graduation from an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education that holds a master’s degree in Mathematics or Statistics.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check. An employment eligibility requirement is to meet the requirements of § 435.04(2), Florida Statutes, related to background investigations. Failing to meet these statutory requirements will result in disqualification. A Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) approved background check will be conducted on every successful candidate, and any adverse information that is not disclosed at the time of application will result in disqualification.

• Experience using technology in teaching mathematics courses.
• Experience teaching distance‑learning courses.

Salary range for a 9‑month contract: $42,250.00 – $48,250.00 for a master’s degree and $47,000.00 – $53,000.00 for a doctoral degree.

Faculty members hired with less than three years of related experience are placed on the following schedule: 164 Day Base (2025 – 2026) – Bachelor’s or Less $39,500, Master’s $42,250, Master’s Plus $44,000, Doctorate $47,000. Additional dollar amounts up to $6,000 may be added for years of credited experience to determine entry salary.
