Job Summary

The Mathematics Instructor is a 9‑month, tenure‑track faculty position at Pensacola State College, anticipated to begin in August 2026. The role involves teaching a variety of mathematics courses, advising diverse students, and contributing to departmental and college initiatives, including curriculum development, assessment, and service activities.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare course plans and instructional materials.
  • Deliver course content effectively and adapt to day, evening, and distance‑learning settings.
  • Monitor student attendance, progress, and assessment of learning outcomes.
  • Serve on departmental and college committees.
  • Participate in curriculum development and textbook selection.
  • Engage in activities that support student retention and academic success.
  • Contribute to professional development and service activities as required.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Mathematics from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Applicable professional experience, including teaching, and a valid Florida background‑check clearance.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Commitment to the state college mission and support of diverse student success.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Doctoral degree in Mathematics.
  • Post‑secondary teaching experience, particularly in distance‑learning courses.
Salary Range

$42,250.00 – $48,250.00 for a 9‑month contract with a master’s degree;$47,000.00 – $53,000.00 for a 9‑month contract with a doctoral degree.
