Air Traffic Control Electronics Maintenance Instructor

Duties:

• You will serve as an Air Traffic Control Electronics Maintenance Instructor.
• You will provide formal classroom and practical laboratory instruction utilizing approved course materials, training aides, and other media in the basic skills area.
• You will perform curriculum maintenance for the course material and all associated practical testing faults, ensuring Instructor Guides, Student Guides and Schematics are current and up to date.
• You will participate in student evaluation and counseling programs and student advisory boards in accordance with current directives.
• You will teach at the intermediate and advanced level of maintenance training and involves principles of operations, troubleshooting, repairing, and fleet maintenance procedures to the lowest replaceable unit (LRU).
• You will teach the following courses: (C-103-2070) AN/FPN-68 Maintenance Training, 4-weeks and (C-103-2071) AN/GRN-33(v) Maintenance Training, 4-weeks.
• You will be responsible to the Air Traffic Control Maintenance Training Officer for course of instruction of the Navy Precision Approach AN/FPN-68 Radar and the AN/GRN-33 Instrument Landing System (ILS)

• Must be a graduate of the Navy Precision Approach Radar/Instrument Landing System (ILS) course; OR a graduate of a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA); OR DOD equivalent course with three years' experience.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
• You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications:

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-07) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

• A graduate of the Navy Precision Approach Radar/Instrument Landing System (ILS) course; or a graduate of a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) or DOD equivalent course with three years' experience;
• Possess a knowledge of FPN-68A (Precision Approach RADAR System) or similar Precision Approach systems and the Instrument Landing System (ILS) policies and procedures sufficient to teach and evaluate students during principles of operation and lab training.
• Possess knowledge and skill in basic electronics to include transistor theory, motors/servos, and six-step logical troubleshooting techniques.
• Thorough oral communication, computer literacy, reading and interpreting regulations and problem solving the employee/instructor shall be able to articulate to the student/s the main components, troubleshooting requirements, and general maintenance of the above listed systems.
• Employee shall be able to assist with training development of other instructors and students.
