We are a privately held, full-service design-build firm specializing in fast-track commercial construction for the Department of Defense with design, engineering, and construction integrated under one roof. We are headquartered in Carlsbad, CA, with regional offices nationwide, including a growing Engineering Department in Jacksonville, FL. We are seeking a Director of Civil Engineering to lead our Civil Engineering Department based out of Jacksonville, FL (Relocation provided for out-of-area candidates).
As Director of Civil Engineering, you will be a senior leader responsible for the strategic and technical direction of the firm’s civil engineering practice relating to DoD projects. This role requires deep DoD design standards expertise, interdisciplinary coordination, and the ability to lead and grow a team serving U.S. military clients, in alignment with the enterprise’s Mission, Vision, and Values.

Responsibilities- Provide strategic and technical leadership for the Civil Engineering Department, with a focus on DoD projects.
- Coordinate interdisciplinary teams to deliver design-build solutions under DoD requirements.
- Grow and mentor a team of civil engineers and coordinate with other disciplines, clients, and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with DoD design standards, federal procurement methods, and applicable regulations.
- Support business development and project execution in alignment with corporate vision and values.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s preferred)
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) License required
- Fifteen (15) or more years of experience in civil/site design, with some DoD or military infrastructure project experience preferred
- Proficiency in civil design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, Storm
CAD, HEC-RAS, Info Drainage or similar - Familiarity with federal procurement methods (DBB, DB, ECI) under FAR regulations
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations, permitting procedures, and codes
- Willingness to travel to job sites as needed
