This position is located in Pensacola, FL.
Position Overview and ResponsibilitiesThis position provides professional level supervisory management to the three Aquatic Preserves (Fort Pickens, Yellow River Marsh, and Rocky Bayou AP) in Northwest Florida, including daily administration, operational, and supervisory tasks required to accomplish resource protection within the assigned areas. The incumbent supervises Other Personal Services staff and Career Staff, manages employee time and attendance, and creates and tracks an annual budget and work plan.
As supervisor of staff associated with ecosystem restoration projects within the three Aquatic Preserves or beyond, the role develops and implements restoration projects, assists watershed management work groups, reviews research and plans, and identifies environmental issues within the preserves.
The position coordinates with stakeholders to develop management plans, monitors surface waters and important habitats, and creates environmental education and special events programs. It also assists ORCP regional staff in securing and managing grants, developing proposals, and administering budgets, time sheets, purchase orders, and requisitions.

- Obtain CPR/First Aid certification
- Maintain professional, courteous, and tactful interactions with the public
- Valid Driver License is required.
- At least 5 years of verifiable related experience in physical or natural resources. Post‑secondary degrees may substitute experience on a year‑for‑year basis. A credential evaluation report from an approved agency must accompany all foreign degrees.
This position is designated as a Position of Special Trust in accordance with DEP Directive 422. Background screening will be required.
Applicable Job‑Specific License or CertificationsCPR / First Aid Certification must be obtained within the first year of employment.
PayThe annual salary for this position is $51,479.40.
