The EHS Specialist is responsible for safety at the site.
This position reports to the Senior Manager EHS and is part of the EHS group located in Pensacola. This is an on‑site role.
Responsibilities- Support the Cytiva Pensacola facility with compliance to all EHS requirements, including developing and maintaining EHS procedures, coordinating with other departments, and assisting the facilities and engineering departments with process changes involving Management of Change.
- Coordinate and maintain training and records for programs including HAZCOMM, Fire Extinguisher, Hot Work, LOTO, Confined Space, Ergonomics, Ladder Safety, Accident Investigation, Personal Protective Equipment.
- Conduct, support, and coach departments in risk assessment tools and support continuous improvement, monitoring progress until closure.
- Create, maintain, and enhance effective working relationships with Value Stream Leaders, Managers, Supervisors, Employee representatives and other key stakeholders (internal and external).
- Own and manage Industrial Hygiene monitoring, analysis of reports, and implementation of effective countermeasures as required.
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Science, Engineering or EHS related field, with 3+ years experience in environmental, health and/or safety.
- Experience managing or overseeing site procedures, work practices related to EHS regulations, permits, etc.
- Ability to communicate at all levels, including senior management and external regulators.
- Problem‑solving skills, root cause analysis, knowledge of lean manufacturing practices.
- Knowledge of Process Safety, Process Hazard Analysis, Job Hazard Analysis, and emergency response and planning.
- Recognized Professional Certification in Safety, Industrial Hygiene or Environmental Management (CEM, CHMM, CSP).
- Experience working with ISO 45001 audit activities.
- Auditing skills including the ability to observe, monitor and analyze existing operating methods and procedures to determine compliance to standards.
