Contract Duration: 12-16 months with possible extension, 8am to 5pm / day shift
Pay Rate: $44.63/hr on W-2

This position will lead small to mid-level projects with management support and direction. It involves designing custom equipment, on‑site management of contractor force for installation, and hands‑on engineering tasks such as using hand tools, bending SS tube, soldering copper, and assembling equipment.
The role is part of the Advanced Engineering Group located in Pensacola, FL and is an on‑site, full‑time position. The Group serves multiple sites within the United States and abroad, providing technical subject‑matter expertise in equipment across research and development, production, and membrane manufacturing.
What you will do as a Project Engineer- Lead moderate‑sized or support large‑scale projects from conception through completion, including equipment design, mechanical and fluid process engineering, and budgeting & timelines.
- Supervise contractors (civil, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical) and coordinate mechanical assembly of designs, while also assembling, installing, and qualifying designs as needed.
- Characterize manufacturing processes and materials to identify critical process drivers and establish appropriate controls.
- Develop and lead qualification efforts for changes in manufacturing processes, raw materials, and new product introductions.
- Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, Minitab, and 3D CAD software (Inventor, Solid Works, Catia, Pro‑E, Revit).
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering with basic knowledge of converting and/or process industry, background in mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering for chemical/polymer processing equipment, or fluid handling.
- Standard to highly experienced knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and working on machinery/equipment.
- Intermediate to medium knowledge of machining processes to understand feasible design applications.
- Working knowledge of industrial safety standards and regulations (OSHA).
- Ability to lead and/or contribute to cross‑functional technical engineering programs.
- Evaluating systems and processes to isolate root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Coordinating testing of materials with internal and external laboratories and analyzing results to identify solutions.
- Working knowledge of SPC, DOE, measurement systems analysis, statistical hypothesis testing, Lean Six Sigma, or structured problem‑solving approaches.
- Experience with risk assessment, risk mitigation techniques, and process validation methods and documentation (IQ/OQ/PQ, Gage R&R).
