CEI Project Administrator / Project Engineer – Pensacola, FLInfrastructure Consulting & Engineering, LLC (ICE) is a full‑service transportation design and consulting firm specializing in civil and transportation engineering services, delivering innovative solutions for infrastructure projects across the U.S.
We are seeking a CEI Project Administrator / Project Engineer with strong experience in FDOT projects to take on a crucial role in overseeing project administration and ensuring project success.
Responsibilities- Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, collaborate with and provide direction to project teams.
- Utilize MS Office, including creating Excel spreadsheets with formulas, and work independently.
- Investigate work‑related problems and use initiative and judgment.
- Assign specific tasks to administrative and field staff, assisting in all phases of construction projects.
- Manage projects, interact directly with clients and prospects, and handle client‑facing communication.
- Monitor project progress to ensure alignment with schedules and contract requirements.
- Review and modify project schedules, specifications, and drawings.
- Prepare Supplemental Agreements and Work Orders in accordance with FDOT specifications.
- Actively pursue future work opportunities.
- A valid driver’s license with a safe driving record and completion of a pre‑employment screening.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
- Commitment to a drug‑free workplace.
- Familiarity with Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) projects; FDOT experience preferred.
- Obtaining the following certifications within six months of hire: FDOT Advanced MOT, CTQP Final Estimates Level II, CTQP Quality Control Manager, and Florida Stormwater, Erosion, and Sedimentation Control Training and Certification Program for Inspectors and Contractors.
- For candidates without an engineering, engineering‑technology, or construction‑management degree, a minimum of eight years’ experience in CEI, roadway, or bridge construction, with at least two years in relevant transportation projects.
- The ideal candidate must be a registered Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Florida. If registered in another state, the endorsement in Florida must be obtained within six months of receiving the project notice to proceed (NTP).
- For candidates with an engineering, engineering‑technology, or construction‑management degree, at least two years of relevant engineering experience in transportation projects is required; a master’s degree in an engineering field may substitute for one year of experience.
This position requires minimal lifting up to 50 pounds, sometimes on a frequent basis, and the ability to travel and tour work sites under adverse environmental conditions including loud noise, high dust, extreme temperature, visual examination of materials, and work in varied weather and field conditions, including heights, uneven terrain, highway traffic, and heavy equipment.
Expected Hours of WorkThe ICE offices are open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with an unpaid lunch hour. Work schedules may vary according to the project schedule.
