Water Resources EIT​/Designer

Overview

As part of HDR's Water Business Group, you'll help shape how communities manage water for generations to come. From delivering safe drinking water and treating wastewater responsibly to developing sustainable water supplies and protecting lives and property through flood control, your work will directly support public health, environmental sustainability and infrastructure resilience.

• Work under project engineers on the application of various design engineering and modeling techniques in the development of water resource projects for federal, state and local municipalities.
• Focus on hydraulics and hydrology modeling, stormwater collection systems modeling, data collection, assimilation and presentations.
• Work on projects including flood control, river design, stream grade control structures, dike systems, levees, stream channel restoration/rehabilitation, wetland and lake restoration, watershed issues and non‑point source loading and point source design.
• Produce design calculations, draft technical reports and perform water resources studies.
• Perform other duties as needed.

• Candidates without their EIT will be placed into a Design Coordinator job code and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression.
• Preference given to local candidates.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent field.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, standard CAD platforms such as AutoCAD, and hydraulic modeling software.
• Self‑motivated, able to work independently and with a project team to completion of a task.
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee‑owned culture is a must.
