description
job summary:the cfo reports to the president/ceo, and is responsible for bank investment management, asset and liability reporting and strategy development, budgeting and forecasting and financial reporting. The cfo has the responsibility for managing all aspects of financial accounting, including researching, policy and procedures, while assuring the accuracy of reported financial results. As a key member of senior management, the cfo works closely with all other members of senior management, ensuring a cooperative relationship between all areas of the bank.
The cfo actively participates in the development of all management and board initiatives to the staff, community, and customers.
- work with senior management in developing strategic plans and budgets;
- maintain a strong knowledge and understanding of appropriate banking laws, regulations, internal policies and procedures, and is responsible for full compliance with the above;
- assist customers and bank staff with resolution of problems;
- organize proper controls and monitor to prevent loss to the bank and assure the accuracy of financial reports;
- responsible for preparation and analysis of financial and regulatory reports and as applicable, presenting financials to management, the board of directors, etc.;
- function as the liaison with outside auditors and regulators for their review of financial results and condition;
- provide reporting, analysis, and recommendations to the asset & liability committee;
- manage financial operations, accounting function, budgeting process and securities portfolio;
- supervise all daily functions of the accounting department
requirements
minimum requirements:- master's degree (preferred)
- cpa certification (preferred)
- ten to fifteen years of related experience in finance and accounting
- bank experience (preferred); jack henry experience (preferred)
- bank regulatory experience
- an experienced leader and financial executive with appropriate industry experience.
- must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a professional environment.
- strong written communication and computer skills. (microsoft word, excel, and other software programs.)
while performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occassionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
