Payroll Clerk
Crown Health Care Laundry Services is a fast‑growing Pensacola‑based company that serves healthcare companies across the Southeast. We are looking for a Payroll Clerk to join our team. Crown Health Care Laundry Services is known for its strong culture in providing exceptional service to its customers and a long‑term positive and secure working environment for its employees.
We are seeking a detail‑oriented Payroll Clerk with 3–5 years of full‑cycle payroll processing experience to process payroll for our multi‑state, union, and non‑union workforce. The successful candidate will have a strong ADP background, payroll tax knowledge and a general understanding of financial and accounting concepts.
Key Responsibilities- Process weekly multi‑state payroll for union and non‑union employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of duties performed.
- Interpret and apply union contracts and comply with varied state‑specific wage and hour regulations.
- Complete various functions such as setting up fields for new employees, updating job classes and pay rates as needed, terminating employees, tracking vacation, responding to and setting up garnishments from states, counties, cities, or other court‑ordered sources, and setting up, deducting, and reconciling benefits.
- Monthly reporting of dues, pension plans, health, life, and dental insurance separately to the union.
- Review quarterly filings of state (SUI & state withholding) and federal (941) returns.
- Generate and reconcile W‑2s.
- Create and maintain 1095s for ACA reporting.
- 3–5 years of full‑cycle payroll processing.
- Strong hands‑on experience with ADP payroll systems, preferably Workforce Now.
- Solid grasp of general accounting principles (GL, debits/credits, and reconciliations).
- Proven experience managing complex multi‑state payroll tax requirements.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to handle confidential information.
- Highly skilled in Excel.
- Team player and able to interact easily with co‑workers.
- Organized and detail oriented.
- Self‑initiative.
- Great listener with a positive, can‑do attitude.
- Multi‑tasker in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong communicator with a polite, yet firm disposition.
- Willing to work overtime as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
- Experience processing payroll for unionized employees.
- 3–5 years of payroll experience.
