There is an anticipated vacancy for the position of Assistant Counsel in the AGC M&RA - Naval Education and Training Command (NETC), NAS, Pensacola, FL.
The President has ordered a government-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the hiring freeze. Although we are moving forward with the consideration of candidates, we will not make a selection for this vacancy announcement unless and until the position is no longer subject to the hiring freeze.
Duties- You will serve as assistant to the command counsel in advising the Commanding Officer, Naval Education and Training Command (NETC);
- You will provide legal support in each of the traditional Office of General Counsel practice areas for NETC headquarters and subordinate activities;
- You will serve as lead counsel in supporting and securing DON interests in EEOC and MSPB administrative and in other federal litigation, including federal court litigation;
- You will execute a lead role in coordinating NETC’s ethics and standards of conduct compliance program with the NETC Force Judge Advocate, NETC OGC field offices, and subordinate training and education organizations.
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
