The Registered Nurse manages individualized, goal‑directed nursing care through use of the nursing process and the principles of primary nursing in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures. This position provides assistance to physicians in all patient‑related activities, including continuous EKG monitoring, medications, IVs, oxygen therapy, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
Responsibilities- Assesses and diagnoses patient and family needs to provide quality care to assigned patients.
- Develops, discusses, and communicates a realistic plan of care for each patient, in collaboration with patient/significant other to address all identified needs.
- Demonstrates the skills and judgment necessary to implement the medical plan of care, nursing interventions, and procedures as necessary for the patient’s care.
- Evaluates the identified problems, care provided, and patient’s responses, reassessing to meet patient and family needs and assure overall quality of care delivered.
- Performs all responsibilities/duties required by the cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology laboratory division as defined in the scope of service, ensuring that the unique nature of the client is addressed.
- Maintains up‑to‑date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to ensure integration of information for use by the healthcare team, ensuring quality care.
- Maintains current knowledge/certification/licensure. Pursues professional growth and development.
- Assists in other duties as assigned to support the operational needs of the department and organization.
- May be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters.
Minimum Education
- Associates Degree Nursing or Bachelor’s Degree Nursing (Required)
- 1–3 years clinical nursing experience (Required)
- Registered Nurse Licensed State of Florida or eligible compact state (Upon Hire Required)
- BLS for Healthcare Providers (BLS) American Heart Association (Upon Hire Required)
- ACLS Provider (ACLS) American Heart Association (Upon Hire Required)
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIH) within 90 days (Required)
- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist () within 18 months (Required) or
- Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist () within 18 months (Required) or
- Certified Electrophysiology Specialist (CEPS) within 18 months (Required) or
- CNOR (CNOR) within 18 months (Required) or
- Acute/Critical Care Nursing (Adult) () within 18 months (Required) or
- Certified Emergency Nurse within 18 months (Required) or
- Cardiac‑Vascular Nursing () within 18 months (Required)
- Demonstrated clinical competence in critical care nursing, knowledge, and skills.
