Insurance Billing Specialist

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Insurance Billing Specialist to join our Imaging team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing medical billing processes, ensuring accurate claim submissions, and optimizing revenue cycle operations. This role requires a strong understanding of timely and accurate filing, insurance procedures, and electronic health record systems to facilitate efficient reimbursement and maintain compliance with industry standards.

• Prepare and submit insurance claims using appropriate coding standards such as CPT and ICD coding.
• Review medical records and documentation to ensure accurate billing information.
• Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility prior to claim submission.
• Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through effective collection strategies.
• Maintain detailed records of billing activities within EMR and EHR systems.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation discrepancies or coding issues.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations related to medical billing and coding.
• Stay updated on changes in medical coding guidelines and insurance policies.

• Proven experience in medical billing, medical coding, or related healthcare administrative roles.
• Strong knowledge of CPT coding and ICD-10 coding systems.
• Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems.
• Understanding of medical terminology and medical records management.
• Experience with medical collections and insurance claim processing.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team.
• Prior experience in insurance billing and collections is required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.77 - $27.42 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
