Managed Services Technician
A local company in PENSACOLA, FLORIDA is seeking a Managed Services Technician to join our team and ensure the smooth operation of our office environment. The primary purpose of this position is to provide Managed Services Customers with the highest level of quality IT service and support maintaining the highest business ethics in our industry.
Job Responsibilities:- Provide quick effective response to technical requests from end users for computer hardware, peripherals and/or application software support requirements.
- Provide quick effective response to technical requests in system level network trouble shooting problems of hardware and/or software nature.
- Enter all pertinent customer support information into the client-tracking database and document the solution or status of the service call.
- Comprehensively follow through on all customer service issues and service call requests.
- Provide proactive, pre-emptive service to contract customers to ensure minimal down time using preferred tool kit. Review assigned managed device statuses daily and triage issues for resolution. This includes, but is not limited to:
Run malware scans, Ensure endpoint patching is up to date per assigned patch policy, Ensure backups have run successfully and triage any failures, periodically run backup restore tests. - Escalate any potential problems for immediate team resolution. Interface with other technicians and work in a team fashion to resolve issues.
- Attend technical support team meetings.
- Attend technical support training and maintain certifications as required.
- Analyze customers’ needs and submit needs analysis and/or recommendations to Sales for quoting purposes. (esp. UPS, Antivirus, & Backups)
- Two to four years related experience in a Managed Services Provider (MSP) environment supporting and providing repair and troubleshooting on PC equipment and related peripherals in a networked environment.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or hold valid I-9 documentation.
- Computer hardware diagnostics, troubleshooting, repair, and general maintenance is a must. Ability to service, repair or exchange internal components.
- Maintains a working knowledge of PC platforms (such as desktop, notebooks, servers, tablets, smartphones etc.) printers, networks, and networking devices.
- Understanding of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Exchange, and Windows operating systems (currently supported versions)
- Knowledge of LAN/WAN protocols, cabling, installation and servicing
- Software trouble shooting skills
- Virus/Malware detection and removal.
- Understanding of firewalls.
- Understanding of cloud-based environments and Internet applications.
- Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner
- Gathers and analyzes information skillfully
- Demonstrates and/or communicates implemental solutions
- Organized, Attentive to Detail, Enthusiastic, Self-Starter, Strive to continuously build knowledge and skills
- Communicates pleasantly with clients in both positive and negative situations

- For this position, you will be paid $29-34/hour, depending on experience
- Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
- Contract to Hire position
