LocationCenter for Information Warfare Training (CIWT) on board Naval Station Corey Station, Pensacola, FL.
ObjectiveInformation Technology Specialist will be responsible for providing technical support and maintaining a large, diverse, and complex adult education and vocational training system. They will analyze and refine systems requirements; translate those into application prototypes; plan and design systems architecture; write, debug, and maintain code; determine and design application architecture; determine output media/formats; design user interfaces; work with customers to test applications;
and assure software and systems quality and functionality.
- Installing, configuring, and maintaining hardware, software, and network systems; monitoring system performance to ensure optimal uptime.
- Troubleshooting IT issues, resolving system outages, and providing support to end‑users.
- Implementing IT security protocols, monitoring for vulnerabilities, and ensuring compliance with data privacy standards.
- Planning and executing IT projects such as system upgrades, network installations, and software migrations.
- Working with other departments to understand technology requirements and integrate new technologies.
- Setting up new user accounts, managing permissions, and configuring devices and email systems.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Full‑time (40 hours per week). Salaried. Exempt.
Qualifications- Five years’ experience or related experience in training development and computer systems and applications.
- Analyze and refine systems requirements.
- Translate systems requirements into application prototypes.
- Plan and design systems architecture.
- Write, debug, and maintain code.
- Determine and design application architecture.
- Determine output media/formats.
- Design user interfaces.
- Work with customers to test applications.
- Assure software and systems quality and functionality.
- Integrate hardware and software components.
- Write and maintain program documentation.
- Evaluate new application software technologies.
- Ensures the rigorous application of information security and information assurance policies, principles, and practices to the delivery of application software services.
- Position is on site at CIWT on board Naval Station Corey Station, Pensacola, FL. Qualified candidates should be local to Pensacola, FL, or surrounding areas.
- Ability to lift items and/or equipment up to 50 lbs. on limited occasions.
- Travel up to 10% anticipated.
