Information Technology Specialist

This position is contingent upon contract award. Candidates must have an active Secret clearance and verify, before applying, that you meet the minimum requirements of the position.

Center for Information Warfare Training (CIWT) on board Naval Station Corey Station, Pensacola, FL.

Information Technology Specialist will be responsible for providing technical support and maintaining a large, diverse, and complex adult education and vocational training system. They will analyze and refine systems requirements; translate those into application prototypes; plan and design systems architecture; write, debug, and maintain code; determine and design application architecture; determine output media/formats; design user interfaces; work with customers to test applications;

and assure software and systems quality and functionality.

• Installing, configuring, and maintaining hardware, software, and network systems; monitoring system performance to ensure optimal uptime.
• Troubleshooting IT issues, resolving system outages, and providing support to end‑users.
• Implementing IT security protocols, monitoring for vulnerabilities, and ensuring compliance with data privacy standards.
• Planning and executing IT projects such as system upgrades, network installations, and software migrations.
• Working with other departments to understand technology requirements and integrate new technologies.
• Setting up new user accounts, managing permissions, and configuring devices and email systems.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Full‑time (40 hours per week). Salaried. Exempt.

• Five years’ experience or related experience in training development and computer systems and applications.
• Analyze and refine systems requirements.
• Translate systems requirements into application prototypes.
• Plan and design systems architecture.
• Write, debug, and maintain code.
• Determine and design application architecture.
• Determine output media/formats.
• Design user interfaces.
• Work with customers to test applications.
• Assure software and systems quality and functionality.
• Integrate hardware and software components.
• Write and maintain program documentation.
• Evaluate new application software technologies.
• Ensures the rigorous application of information security and information assurance policies, principles, and practices to the delivery of application software services.

• Position is on site at CIWT on board Naval Station Corey Station, Pensacola, FL. Qualified candidates should be local to Pensacola, FL, or surrounding areas.
• Ability to lift items and/or equipment up to 50 lbs. on limited occasions.
• Travel up to 10% anticipated.
