Mission Technologies, a division of HII, is seeking a skilled and detail‑oriented Data Science Specialist (Configuration Analyst) to support configuration management activities across complex systems, programs, and engineering environments. This role ensures that product baselines, technical data, and documentation are accurately maintained and controlled throughout the system lifecycle. The Data Science Specialist will collaborate with engineering, program management, logistics, and quality teams to ensure compliance with customer, contractual, and internal CM requirements.
This position is contingent upon contract award.
- Coordinate with government customers to determine process improvements for software Configuration Management.
- Perform planning, analysis, and evaluation of the effectiveness of software Configuration Management methods.
- Ensure supported programs follow Configuration Management security controls.
- Utilize advanced qualitative and quantitative techniques to analyze and measure the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of organizational programs, establishing study methods and techniques and evaluating the effectiveness of software running government applications.
- Participate in meetings and projects with stakeholders, staff, project managers, etc. to render project activities into actionable solutions across business units and initiatives.
- Effectively assess and respond to highly complex and time‑sensitive issues.
- Review business requirements and other documentation from multiple sources to identify and resolve cross‑initiative dependencies and ensure consistency of configuration management approach and application across the government program offices.
- Provide guidance or technical supervision to less experienced staff performing configuration management functions.
- Provide Configuration Management software system tool administrative control, including account creation, setting roles/permissions, providing system training, and troubleshooting issues.
- Review program Systems Engineering Plans in support of Technical Reviews to ensure configuration management requirements are adhered to. The CM Analyst validates the deliverables depicted in the SEP to ensure the artifacts are reposed in the CM repository in support of the specific Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) event.
- 6 years relevant experience with a Bachelor's in a related field; 4 years relevant experience with a Master's in a related field; or a High School Diploma or equivalent with 10 years relevant experience.
- Active Secret clearance required.
- Experience writing and maintaining Configuration Management (CM) Plans and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Experience developing and improving Program CM processes, including Agile methodology.
- Experience documenting and performing version control processes and procedures.
- Experience establishing and maintaining program CM document libraries.
- Experience scheduling, facilitating, and recording meeting minutes for CM meetings.
- Ability to multi‑task and handle multiple projects and deadlines.
- Ability to think independently with minimal oversight.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
- Exemplary customer/client management skills and techniques.
- Experience with Windows 2010, MS Office 2016 software applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint) and Adobe software.
- Relevant configuration management or Agile certification.
