Network Security Administrator – Pensacola, Florida
Responsibilities- Ensure ACAS benchmarks and scans, Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIGs), Checklists, DISA Security Compliance Checker (SCC) and SCAP Scanning Utilities are provided on schedule for network, server, and end‑user device management.
- Ensure IAVMs are closed within 72 hours of notification or provide mitigation strategy with weekly progress reports.
- Collaborate with ISSM to develop mitigation strategies and conduct systems log analysis to remediate vulnerabilities.
- Use Power Shell to develop and deploy scripts to monitor and mitigate security vulnerabilities in operating systems and installed software.
- Monitor and report on vulnerability management activities, including weekly reviews of CKL files to minimize findings.
- Ensure STIG compliance for all servers, including manual DoD STIGs on VMware hosts.
- Coordinate with cybersecurity teams to prioritize and address IAVMs per compliance requirements.
- Maintain security metrics for operating systems and services to meet command cyber security readiness inspection requirements.
- Develop network security control procedures based on DISA, DHA, and local policies.
- Implement security controls, monitor, and respond to alerts while analyzing technology packages for vulnerabilities.
- Use ACAS suite for weekly vulnerability scanning and compliance checks on the MedCOI network.
- Monitor cybersecurity information channels for the latest vulnerability advisories and best practices.
- Medical Device Security Administration
- Coordinate with medical staff and vendors for data integration with medical equipment.
- Ensure availability and reliability of data interfaces between devices and systems.
- Collaborate with staff to optimize data‑driven workflows.
- Apply information assurance policies to all medical systems.
- Virtual Machine Administration
- Maintain VMware and Azure virtual infrastructure for efficient data processing.
- Monitor VM performance, capacity, availability, and compliance per DoD guidelines.
- Track CPU, memory, disk, and network utilization for enterprise VMs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve VM‑related issues.
- Maintain documentation for all enterprise virtual servers and switches.
- Configure and maintain NMOTC Splunk for data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Create and manage Splunk dashboards.
- Support the integration of disparate data environments and cross‑domain data transfers.
- Support mobile computing solutions deployment.
- Storage Area Network (SAN) Management and Contingency Planning
- Design, implement, and manage SAN infrastructure.
- Implement backup and recovery solutions.
- Monitor backup operations and perform data restores.
- Manage DLT tapes and inventory; test restoration integrity.
- Contingency Planning
- Develop and maintain data contingency plans to minimize system failure impact.
- Establish disaster recovery strategies and test them semi‑annually.
- Document and update contingency plans and procedures.
- Participate in capacity planning and disaster recovery exercises.
- Perform annual COOP exercises locally and at remote sites.
- Internet Information Services (IIS) Administration
- Manage IIS for hosting and managing web applications.
- Configure and optimize IIS settings for performance and security.
- Troubleshoot IIS‑related issues.
- Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) and Print Management
- Design, implement, and manage DHCP services.
- Allocate and manage IP addresses efficiently.
- Troubleshoot DHCP issues.
- Administer print services, including deployment and configuration.
- Monitor and optimize print resources for efficiency.
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Bachelor’s degree in network administration with ten (10) years of experience in Information Technology (IT).
Required Skills and Experience- Experience managing virtual machine support with VMware and Microsoft Hypervisor.
- Experience installing, configuring, managing, and troubleshooting VMware ESC, VSphere, or Virtual Center.
- Knowledge of network systems risk‑management framework principles.
- Skill in collecting, documenting, and submitting data for authority to operate (ATO) with RMF processes.
- Experience providing technical expertise for assessment and authorization (A&A) activities for data center and cloud IT infrastructure.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must have an active Top Secret clearance.
