OverviewVelocity is seeking a highly driven and solution‑oriented Supply Chain Manager to lead our procurement, logistics, and inventory control functions. This role demands a leader with a proven ability to identify issues, implement effective corrective actions, and hold their team accountable to high performance standards. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast‑paced environment, embrace challenges, and have hands‑on experience implementing and optimizing software systems to improve efficiency and visibility across the supply chain.
Job Responsibilities- Oversee all aspects of the supply chain, including procurement, vendor management, logistics, and inventory control.
- Identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and process gaps — and develop corrective measures that deliver measurable results.
- Lead, coach, and develop employees, holding your team accountable for meeting deadlines, cost targets, and performance metrics.
- Establish and communicate clear expectations, creating a culture of ownership, urgency, and results.
- Drive successful implementation and integration of supply chain management software; ensure data accuracy and team adoption.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with production, engineering, quality, and finance to align materials flow with project timelines and budgets.
- Proactively drive clear, consistent communication across all levels of the organization to align teams and stakeholders, resulting in faster decision cycles.
- Analyze KPIs and relative data to forecast demand, manageljive inventory levels, and minimize material shortages or excess.
- Negotiate with suppliers to ensure quality, reliability, and cost‑effectiveness.
- Mitigate sole‑source supplier risk through vendor diversification and development.
- Continually evaluate and improve vendor performance and supply chain processes through vendor scoring and process optimization.
- Maintain compliance with company policies BX and safety standards.
Skills and Abilities
- Proven experience implementing ERP or supply chain software systems.
- Demonstrated ability to identify problems, create actionable solutions, and drive accountability within a team.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Manages risk and develops contingency plans.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership abilities.
- Highly skilled in cultivating strong vendor partnerships to ensure reliable supply chain continuity and cost‑effective procurement.
- High level of adaptability and resilience in a challenging, fast‑paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Managementോടെ, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field preferred but not required.
- 5+ years of experience in supply chain operations in a manufacturing or production environment.
- CSCP certification desired.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items, typically ranging from 25 to 50 pounds, and occasionally up to 75 pounds with assistance.
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and moving throughout the warehouse, often on hard surfaces.
- Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, or squatting to retrieve or place items.
- Regularly reaching overhead to access inventory on high shelves.
- Climbing ladders or step stools to handle inventory stored at height.
- Pushing and pulling carts, pallet jacks, or other material‑handling equipment.
- Operating forklifts and other material‑handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Adhering to safety protocols for all equipment operation, including proper inspection and maintenance before use.
