Overview

The Maintenance Technician performs and coordinates maintenance tasks, reviews service requests, and ensures timely completion while maintaining safety and quality standards in buildings and facilities.

• Review service requests and assign to the appropriate employee for completion.
• Complete daily service requests and maintain accurate records.
• Review the returned service request completion report to ensure all assigned service requests are completed satisfactorily and timely.
• Establish and maintain an inventory of parts, materials, and supplies; determine stocking levels and purchasing needs.
• Record work performed on resident service requests accurately and in detail.
• Certify the work performed by contractors is properly completed prior to payment.
• Perform maintenance and repairs in areas of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, painting, and other building repairs.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment.

• Be punctual and present at work when scheduled.
• Be flexible with the work schedule, including availability to work weekends, evenings, and/or holidays.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective communication with residents, prospects, employees, peers, vendors, owners, etc.
• Computer software experience to include MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and One Site.
• Basic understanding of Federal, State and local Fair Housing laws.

• General Maintenance – 2 years

• High school or equivalent
• Previous Property Management Experience (preferred)

• Constant sitting, walking, climbing and reaching
• Regular lifting and carrying of up to 80 pounds and, with assistance, up to 200 pounds
