Job Description

The schedule is Monday-Thursday 8:00am-4:30pm and Friday 8:00am-12:00pm. The RN - Practice Coordinator performs selected nursing acts in the care of the ill, injured, or infirm patient under the direction of the Physician. This position collaborates with physicians and care providers to coordinate day-to-day patient care. The job involves working with patients, physicians and support staff to meet patient goals successfully.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain a high degree of excellence in clinical outcomes while providing effective patient care throughout.
  • Manage clinical operations, supervise clinical staff including assessing clinical staffing needs, interviewing candidates, department orientation, staff training, coaching, counseling, and disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Work with ancillary departments to perform and maintain clinical audits for HLD (high level disinfection), maintain clinical staff competencies, perform and maintain pharmacy audits to ensure samples are monitored and logged appropriately and office medications are stored according to policy, maintain audit on hand washing techniques, provide documentation to ancillary departments and the Practice Manager as appropriate.
  • Work with ancillary departments such as Bio-Med for equipment maintenance and yearly calibration checks, warranty and repair needs.
  • Support medical providers and maintain a clear and open communication path for quality care standards, communication and clinical operations.
  • Responsible for all documentation and reporting, developing and implementing plans for meeting regulatory requirements and clinical and budgetary management functions.
  • Prepare patient for provider; maintain supplies, rooms, and medications; perform and track tests and results; assist providers and nurses; perform chart documentation, review, and maintenance; perform front office duties when required and complete miscellaneous duties as assigned. Maintain patient flow in the clinical areas.
  • Process orders for medical supplies and medications to keep present inventory current and in stock according to ordering protocol.
  • Clean, package, and sterilize instruments and procedure supplies per OSHA standards. Clean exam rooms and equipment as per OSHA standards.
  • Maintain all office licensures as required by state agencies and ensure they are posted as required.
  • Provide education material and communicate physician advice and instructions to patient.
  • Develop and document a plan of care with physician approval and support that prescribes interventions to attain expected outcomes, individualized to each patient according to condition and need using assessment data.
  • Maintain current knowledge/certification/licensure. Pursue professional growth and development.
Qualifications

Minimum Education
  • Associates Degree Nursing Required or
  • Technical Diploma/Certificate Nursing Required
Minimum Work Experience
  • 2 years Nursing experience Required
Licenses and Certifications
  • Registered Nurse Licensed State of Florida or eligible compact state Upon Hire Required
  • BLS for Healthcare Providers (BLS) American Heart Association Upon Hire Required
Required Skills, Knowledge And Abilities
  • Ability to read and understand the English language.
  • Ability to work effectively with co-workers, management and physicians.
  • Requires strong verbal skills in interpersonal situations.
