Rex Surgery Center of Wakefield is an ambulatory surgery center in Raleigh, NC. The hospital is part of UNC REX Healthcare, which has expanded its scope by constructing new facilities and providing new services. Today, UNC REX Healthcare encompasses an acute care hospital, emergency care, urgent care centers, wound healing, five wellness centers, and two skilled nursing facilities that concentrate on long-term nursing care and rehabilitation.

The facility has treatment centers dedicated to surgical services; women's care; pain management; sleep disorders; neurology; and cancer, heart, and vascular care.

Case assignments include ophthalmology, pediatrics, urology, and orthopedics.

Team leadership includes Anne Brown, Chief CRNA.

Responsibilities include pre-anesthesia assessment, obtaining and/or verifying patient consent, discussing anesthetic options and risks with the patient, induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia, monitoring of the patient's physiological condition, and performance of clinical intervention as needed.

Requirements include a current license as a registered professional nurse, graduation from an accredited program of nurse anesthesia education, and certification or recertification by the AANA Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists.
