Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice and FNP Program Director - 128180

The School of Nursing (SoN) at the University of West Florida (UWF), Pensacola, Florida, seeks applicants to join its dynamic team as part of a rapidly growing MSN Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) program as the Family Nurse Practitioner Program Director. This is a 12-month, full-time position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice. The salary for this in-person, non-tenure eligible position will be commensurate with experience.

Primary

Responsibilities Include
  • Primarily assigned to the MSN FNP program as the FNP Program Director and will teach in the classroom, and clinical settings on the Pensacola campus and at local community partner locations.
  • This position may be assigned to teach in other SoN programs as assigned or other areas the department needs direct.
Minimum Requirements For The Position Include
  • Earned a doctoral degree (PhD, EdD, DNP) in nursing, education, or a health-related field from an accredited institution, with a master’s or bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited institution.
  • Holds an unrestricted Florida license as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or eligible for licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the State of Florida.
  • Holds an active Family Nurse Practitioner certification.
  • Three years’ work experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
Preferred Qualifications For This Position Include
  • Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience in nursing education or healthcare.
  • Familiarity with the American Association of Colleges of Nursing Essentials and National Task Force recommendations
  • Knowledge and understanding of the FNP certification test plans.

The position requires a criminal background check, a current unrestricted Florida license as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or must be eligible for licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the State of Florida.
