Job Description:

RN Med Surg in Pensacola, FL

Our client is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Med Surg team. The Registered Nurse is responsible for comprehensive patient care, including observation, assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation, health teaching, counseling, and the administration of medications and treatments as prescribed by authorized practitioners.

Qualifications:
  • Recent (within the last year or two) acute care Med-Surg experience.
  • Open to PCU/CVICU/ICU acute experience.
  • Nursing Diploma or ASN; BSN preferred.
  • Previous experience in an acute care setting.
  • Current Florida State Registered Nurse license.
  • Current FL RN license required or appropriate compact licensure.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • Critical thinking, service excellence, good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, and PC skills.
Additional Information:
  • 50-bed Med/Surg unit specializing in Oncology, Ortho, Trauma, and Psychiatric care.
  • Unit Beds/Rooms:
    Med Surg Unit-2 West with 50 Beds and a 1 RN to 5-6 patient ratio.
  • Patient Care Technician (PCT) ratio: 1:10-13 in Med Surg, Oncology.
  • Unit sees a variety of patients, including trauma, pneumonia, orthopedic, and psychiatric cases.
