POSITION OVERVIEWThe successful candidate will conduct cutting‑edge research under the mentorship of Principal Investigator, Dr. Franccesco Boeno, to support projects under the Center for Computational Intelligence, in collaboration with Dr. Marcas Bamman at the Florida Institute for Human and Machine Cognition (IHMC). This position will come with an appointment at IHMC and will collaborate on the creation and/or application of computational models and systems capable of performing complex tasks in strategic research clusters.
Specifically, the candidate will be expected to engage in preclinical research associated with functional and multiomics data generation and analysis. The position is approved for funding for 2 years, with the funding available to extend the appointment to a third year, dependent on having met specified goals and metrics agreed upon by the PI and CCI leadership.
Post‑docs are required to live locally with the expectation of working on campus, with schedule flexibility coordinated with the PI. Move date is also flexible within reason.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSThe appointee shall have received a doctorate from an accredited institution in a field appropriate to the assigned duties and responsibilities such as Biology, Applied Physiology, Medical Sciences, Movement Sciences, Molecular Biology, Chemistry, or a closely related field. Candidates must have a doctoral degree conferred before the appointment date and must also be authorized to work in the US (US citizens, permanent residents, or appropriate visa status).
No H‑1B visa is allowed due to the current moratorium.
Documented experience working in a collaborative research team environment.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Documented experience working on preclinical research.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSExperience with animal handling, molecular biology, skeletal muscle biology and bioinformatics.
Experience securing grant funding for research.
Ability to work collaboratively in a research team environment.
