Job Summary
Self‑driven professional mandated to lead the La‑Z‑Boy In‑Home Design program, translating client needs into actionable design concepts, conducting in‑home consultations, and equipping sales teams with design expertise. The role elevates the design culture while upholding the highest standards of professionalism and integrity. Training pay of $20/hour for 2‑6 weeks (no commission). Potential average annual earnings after training: $80,000–$110,000+ (inclusive of base, bonus, and commission).
Key Responsibilities- Process:
Promote the La‑Z‑Boy In‑Home Design program, deliver customized portfolio presentations, and exceed store and individual design sales goals. - People:
Partner with Store and Sales Managers to coach, train, and support sales teams, enhancing design culture, product knowledge, sales techniques, and overall in‑home design performance. - Brand Advocacy:
Create design concepts and digital presentations with finish selections, furnishings, and decor that translate client lifestyle, taste, and budget into actionable recommendations. - Operations:
Ensure proper execution of all existing and new systems and administrative procedures, support store management in weekly, monthly, and quarterly meetings, and oversee special projects and promotions while maintaining legal and accounting practices. - Scope & Impact:
The role significantly influences store financial health, team morale and development, operational efficiency, and overall customer experience and community reputation.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience: 2‑3 years in sales or interior design with a residential emphasis.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, computer‑aided design programs, financial understanding, adept interpersonal communication, analytical abilities, goal orientation, team management, and customer service.
- Other: Ability to work the schedule and hours dictated by business needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays; valid driver’s license.
- Design certification.
- Advanced interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
- Business acumen and entrepreneurial spirit.
- Experience building effective relationships.
Training pay: $20/hr for 2‑6 weeks (no commission).Average earning potential after training: $80,000–$110,000+ (base, commission, and bonus inclusive).Post‑training base pay: $26,000 per year.
Commission & bonus: 3.5% on La‑Z‑Boy Design Sales and 2% on other sales (un‑capped). Monthly bonus opportunity up to $2,000 based on meeting specific individual sales goals.
The company will not pay less than state/local minimum wage requirements and will adjust if necessary to meet those requirements.
Weekly hours: 40.

- Paid time off: 9-11 paid holidays, two weeks prorated vacation as a new hire, and mandatory sick time.
Ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds; operate motor vehicle; stand for long periods; use repetitive hand motions; hear and listen continuously; sit, walk, bend, and stoop as required. Subject to indoor environmental conditions. Background and drug screen required.
