Job Overview

College Police Officer – full‑time career service position with Pensacola State College. Responsibilities include law enforcement, security, and safety operations across campus locations, along with dispatcher duties as required.

Responsibilities
  • Perform law enforcement, security, and safety operations protecting life and property.
  • Prevent crime and render emergency services.
  • Patrol campus and regulate pedestrian and vehicular traffic.
  • Write detailed reports and provide escorts for individuals.
  • Transport currency.
  • Carry out dispatcher duties as needed.
  • Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, and be available to serve at any PSC campus.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED equivalency.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • At least six months of work experience in any field.
  • Completion of Florida Criminal Justice Standard and Training Commission minimum training (F.S. 943.13 and/or 943.131).
  • Successful criminal background check in compliance with Florida Statutes §435.04(2).
  • FDLE‑approved background check upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience as a law enforcement officer in a post‑secondary educational environment.
  • Computer skills using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Publisher, Outlook, etc.).
Salary

Annual salary: $34,905 (approximately $17.90 per hour).
