Facilities Maintenance Technician
The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of company facilities, ensuring all systems, equipment, and grounds operate efficiently and safely. This role encompasses hands‑on technical tasks, landscaping duties, and general upkeep of the property. The Facilities Maintenance Technician will play a critical role in minimizing downtime, maintaining a safe and appealing working environment, and ensuring the company’s facilities and grounds are in excellent condition.

Powder Coating and Facilities Manager
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical equipment.
- Inspect facilities regularly to identify and address maintenance needs, safety hazards, and potential improvements.
- Maintain and repair lighting systems, fixtures, and switches.
- Ensure proper operation of doors, locks, windows, and other building components.
- Service and maintain tools, equipment, and machinery used within the facility.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, coordinating with specialized vendors if necessary.
- Maintain outdoor areas, including mowing lawns, trimming bushes, and caring for plants and trees.
- Remove debris, leaves, and trash to keep the property clean and presentable.
- Monitor and maintain irrigation systems to ensure proper functionality and efficient water use.
- Apply seasonal landscaping care, such as mulching, fertilizing, and snow or ice removal as needed.
- Ensure facilities and grounds comply with OSHA regulations, fire codes, and other safety and environmental standards.
- Perform safety checks and maintain emergency systems, such as fire alarms, extinguishers, and sprinklers.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests, minimizing disruptions to daily operations.
- Assist with facility projects, including renovations, installations, and upgrades.
- Support the team in moving furniture, setting up work spaces, or other operational needs.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong knowledge of building systems, landscaping tools, and grounds care equipment.
- Familiarity with irrigation systems, lawn care techniques, and outdoor maintenance best practices.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects and perform physical tasks, including climbing ladders and working in outdoor conditions.
- Problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills for coordinating with team members and external vendors.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to protocols.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
- Prolonged periods of standing or walking around the workspace.
- Frequently lifting heavy objects, such as tools, parts, or equipment, often weighing up to 50–75 pounds.
- Regularly bending, stooping, or crouching to work on vehicles at different heights.
- Moving large or heavy equipment, carts, or vehicles within the shop.
- Precise manipulation of tools, small parts, and diagnostic equipment.
- Continuous use of hands, arms, and fingers for tasks like tightening bolts, sanding, or painting.
- Exposure to loud noises from power tools and machinery.
- Using equipment like impact wrenches or sanders that produce significant vibration.
- Working in non‑climate‑controlled environments, leading to exposure to heat or cold.
- Potential exposure to dust, fumes, and chemicals such as solvents, oils, and paints. Proper PPE is often required.
- Ensuring accuracy in measurements, assembly, and inspections.
- Analyzing and troubleshooting mechanical or structural issues.
- Frequent reaching above the shoulders or below the waist.
- Maintaining physical activity throughout the day without fatigue.
- Adherence to safety protocols to avoid injuries from sharp tools, heavy objects, or moving vehicles.
- Safely operate a motor vehicle.
