This class performs specialized repairs, installation, and maintenance on County equipment, fixtures, facilities and associated systems; and may act in lead or senior work capacity.

This is a "mandatory-testing" position that requires Drug Testing.

• May serve as a lead to lower level staff by prioritizing and assigning work, training staff on work methods and procedures, and/or performing other related activities
• Identifies, troubleshoots, tests, adjusts, and repairs problems related to facilities, machines, mechanical devices, electrical systems, plumbing, irrigation systems, utilities, fixtures, and/or specialized equipment and associated systems in assigned area of responsibility
• Monitors, checks, and performs preventive maintenance activities to applicable fixtures, equipment, and/or associated systems to ensure continued and uninterrupted operation
• Operates a variety of specialized tools and equipment, including heavy equipment, in order to perform repair and maintenance activities
• Prepares and maintains a variety of logs, records, work orders, and/or other related documentation
• Installs equipment, light fixtures, and/or other applicable items; disassembles and reassembles equipment to replace worn and/or faulty parts
• Monitors tool, supplies, and equipment inventory; notifies appropriate individual(s) when inventory needs to be replenished
• Performs a variety of carpentry and/or welding activities in support of building and installing a variety of structures
• Performs other duties of a similar nature or level

• Building and installing custom cabinetry, historical columns, and/or other related items

• Installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical control, wiring, and lighting systems
• Troubleshooting electrical issues using appropriate testing devices and industry standards of practice

• Performing routine and complex installations, maintenance and repairs on Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVAC) motors and equipment and assisting with complex HVAC work
• Certification by an organization approved by the Environmental Protection Agency as an Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technician at the "Universal" level upon offer of employment

• Preparing a variety of surfaces for painting
• Applying plaster to interior and exterior surfaces
• Painting a variety of surfaces
• Staining and finishing wood surfaces

• Cleaning horse stalls
• Performing a variety of landscaping activities
• Preparing and maintaining athletic fields for sporting activities and events

• Unclogging main sewer lines and/or fixtures
• Maintaining annual testing of backflow prev enters

• Operation of a boat to collect water samples and perform other associated duties
• Florida Boater Safety Card desirable, as is knowledge of laboratory procedures, water analysis, wetland restoration, and regulations

High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.), and up to one year of specialized or technical training beyond high school and one year of experience in area of specialty; or, a combination of education and experience equivalent to these requirements.

Must possess a valid driver's license from state of residence, for those who must use a vehicle to change work locations.

Certification or license as determined by regulatory agencies in area of specialty.
