Job Summary

CCI Mechanical, LLC is a construction and remodeling firm that provides HVAC services to federal and commercial clients. The HVAC Technician is responsible for installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. This position reports to sites in Northwest Florida.

Responsibilities
  • Install HVAC systems, including heating units, air conditioning units, ducts, thermostats, and refrigeration equipment.
  • Ensure proper functioning of HVAC systems by testing and inspecting equipment after installation.
  • Perform routine maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure efficiency, safety, and optimal performance, such as cleaning or replacing filters, checking refrigerant levels, calibrating thermostats, and lubricating moving parts.
  • Inspect HVAC systems for signs of wear and tear, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC system problems, including electrical issues, refrigerant leaks, or mechanical failures.
  • Repair or replace faulty components such as compressors, fans, pumps, or thermostats.
  • Ensure timely and cost-effective repairs while minimizing downtime for the customer.
  • Advise customers on system upgrades and energy-efficient alternatives for improving system performance.
  • Install and configure energy-efficient HVAC systems and smart thermostats.
  • Ensure all work meets local, state, and federal regulations, including building codes and safety standards.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by following all safety protocols and wearing proper protective equipment.
  • Handle refrigerants and other hazardous materials in compliance with environmental and safety laws.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in commercial HVAC.
  • Knowledge of commercial HVAC equipment.
  • EPA certification.
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical wiring, refrigeration cycles, and tools used in the trade.
  • Understanding and adhering to relevant building codes and safety regulations.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues and find effective solutions quickly.
  • Precision in installation, maintenance, and repairs to ensure systems function efficiently and safely.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with customers and explain complex issues in simple terms.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to measure and draw ductwork.

frequent opportunity to move about and to work outside the office environment for extended periods involving exposure to the elements with weather that will include extreme heat, cold, wind, rain or other inclement weather, walking over rough and uneven surfaces, and routine lifting of up to 35 pounds. If required, must properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times including but not limited to: hard hats, steel toed boots, eye protection, respiratory protection, and hearing protection.

Must always maintain a constant state of mental alertness.
