Bear General Contractors is seeking Heavy Equipment Operators. We are looking for reliable, safety-minded team members interested in a long-term opportunity with room for growth and advancement.
This role will be employed through a staffing agency for the first six (6) months. At the end of that period, a performance review will be conducted to determine eligibility for transition to direct employment with Bear General Contractors.
Qualifications- Working knowledge of a wide range of construction equipment, including well point systems, skid steers, excavators, dozers, backhoes, rollers, and more
- Proven experience installing storm drain, sewer, and water utilities
- Ability and willingness to perform manual labor as needed in addition to operating equipment
- Construction experience: 3 years preferred
- Heavy equipment operating experience: minimum 1 year required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Demonstrated ability to safely operate a variety of heavy equipment
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Excellent vision (with corrective lenses if required)
- Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Solid understanding of safety practices and jobsite protocols
- Ability to follow directions and work effectively as part of a team
- Sound decision-making skills, especially in high-pressure situations
- Flexibility to work extended hours as required
