The Facilities Technician II performs routine maintenance duties throughout the assigned facilities and may work with electricians, plumbers, HVAC technicians, and mechanics. The role also performs more complex and difficult tasks, including repair and maintenance of other systems, and is responsible for completing assigned safety checks and adhering to all safety regulations and practices.

- Assist with performing testing, inspection, implementation, and maintenance of equipment, systems, and structures.
- Perform assigned preventative maintenance on equipment (e.g., compressors, vacuum pumps, exhaust fans, air handlers, vents, fan coil units, water coolers, refrigerators, ice machines) in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
- Perform minor repairs and replacements, including replacing light bulbs and fire extinguishers, as requested/necessary.
- Receive and distribute materials throughout the facility.
- Perform the moving of items within/between locations and from/to storage, including furniture, equipment, and files.
- May perform daily rounds to provide service, repair, and maintenance on transport equipment, wheelchairs; TVs, nurse call systems; medical gas outlets, alarm panels and zone valve locations and other equipment as assigned.
- May repair or replace faulty or damaged mechanical, electrical, plumbing, air conditioning, and boiler equipment.
- Repair leaking connections, fittings, couplings and fixtures, faucets, washers, seats, stems and valves; replace spigots, faucets and valves; clear obstructed plumbing lines and fixtures.
- May repair overhead paging systems and consult with customers on the operation and repair of non‑life support patient equipment.
- Follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
- Perform safety checks to comply with regulatory codes.
- Participate in meetings, workshops, training, and seminars, as assigned for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform job functions.
- Assist with special projects as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Graduate of trade school.
- 2 years’ experience.
- Other equivalent combination of relevant education or experience.
