Entry‑Level Utility Technician – Essential Services Provider

Pensacola, FL

Schedule:

Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Pay: $18/hr

A local water company in Pensacola is looking for a candidate to join their team as a Utility Technician. This entry‑level role offers hands‑on experience in the utilities industry and opportunities for growth. The candidate will work outdoors, solve problems, and support community infrastructure.

• Maintenance & Repair
  • Locate and repair leaks in water and sewer lines.
  • Replace damaged utility components such as valves, fittings, and meters.
  • Clean and maintain utility infrastructure, including fire hydrants and lift stations.
  • Perform routine inspections of utility lines and equipment.
  • Assist with installation of new utility lines and service connections.
  • Dig trenches and backfill excavations safely and efficiently.
  • Install and connect new water meters.
• Emergency Response
  • Respond to emergency calls for utility disruptions, including leaks or outages.
  • Isolate leaks and take quick action to minimize damage.
• Additional Duties
  • Read and record water meter data accurately.
  • Perform landscaping and maintenance on city properties.
  • Operate tools and equipment safely and effectively.

• Comfortable working long shifts outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and personal transportation.
• Ability to pass a Level 2 Background Check.
• Compliance with the company’s Drug‑Free Workplace Policy.
• No medical marijuana cards; must pass required drug screenings.
