Controls Installation Technician

• Install building automation systems
• Use hand tools and interpret control drawings, plans, and specifications to install temperature control systems, including conduit, enclosures, wiring, and end devices
• Prepare for on-site installations by examining building layouts, anticipating difficulties, gathering materials, and coordinating on-site work with other trades
• Maintain assigned inventory, company equipment, tools, and vehicles
• Document job activities, daily time, progress, duration, repairs, maintenance, and service records
• Submit required paperwork and reports in a timely manner
• Serve as the direct customer contact and service products and equipment on assigned projects
• Identify, analyze, diagnose, and repair equipment and systems at customer locations
• Stay current on Trane products and direct digital control system installation
• Inspect vehicles and maintain vehicle service and maintenance records
• Enforce safety standards and maintain security and accountability of company assets
• Travel regularly, including occasional overnight stays
• Work overtime and weeks as business requirements demand

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Technical School or formal training preferred
• Typically at least 2-5 years of experience in HVAC/Controls Installation processes
• Electrical and/or mechanical experience welcomed
• Knowledge of low voltage electricity
• Knowledge of electronics, including board-level troubleshooting
• Knowledge of direct digital controls and building control techniques
• Previous experience with DDC control systems preferred
• Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office software
• Working proficiency with handheld computers such as smartphones and iPads
• Valid driver's license held for a minimum of 12 months
• No major or frequent traffic violations, including DUI, hit-and-run, license suspension, reckless/careless driving, multiple smaller infractions, or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years
• Ability to travel regularly, occasionally staying overnight
• Ability to work overtime and weeks as business requires
• Safety-sensitive role; may require passing additional drug screening

Demonstrates expertise in HVAC/Controls Installation, including knowledge of Direct Digital Controls and low voltage electricity. Proficient in troubleshooting electronics and maintaining safety standards while managing customer interactions and documentation.
